Why does the app need Bluetooth permission?
NearTalk uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) instead of the internet to communicate with nearby users.
Without Bluetooth permission, the app cannot find other users or send/receive messages.
What is the communication range?
BLE communication range varies by environment but is typically 10-30 meters.
It works best in enclosed spaces like subways or buses.
How long are messages stored?
By default, messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
You can change the retention period from 1 to 30 days in settings.
What is Panic Mode?
Panic Mode is an emergency feature that instantly deletes all data.
Triple-tap the app logo to activate it. All messages, encryption keys, and settings are immediately deleted.
Deleted data cannot be recovered.
Does it drain battery?
NearTalk uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), which consumes very little battery.
Typical usage only drains about 2-3% of battery per day.
Why doesn't it work on the simulator?
iOS Simulator does not support Bluetooth.
You need at least two real iOS devices to test the app.
