탕비실은 대화를 서버에 보내지 않습니다. 메시지는 블루투스로 기기끼리 직접 오가고, 계정도 없습니다. 다만 신고 기능은 예외입니다 — 아래 4항에서 정확히 설명합니다. 과장하지 않는 것이 이 앱의 원칙이라, 되는 것과 안 되는 것을 같은 무게로 적습니다.

2. 기기에만 저장되는 정보
다음은 사용자의 iPhone 안에만 저장되며 서버로 올라가지 않습니다.
- 닉네임 — 대화에 표시되는 이름. 실명일 필요가 없고, 앱 설정에서 언제든 바꿀 수 있습니다.
- 메시지 — 기기 내부 파일에 저장되며 24시간이 지나면 자동으로 삭제됩니다. 보관 기간은 늘릴 수 없고, 구독을 해도 늘어나지 않습니다.
- 보온병에 저장한 대화 — 사용자가 직접 저장을 누른 대화만 남습니다. 여기에는 자동 삭제가 적용되지 않으므로 지우기 전까지 계속 보관됩니다. 열람 시 Face ID 또는 기기 암호로 잠금 해제를 요구합니다.
- 방 암호에서 파생된 키 — iOS Keychain에 저장됩니다. 3일 동안 그 방에 활동이 없으면 자동으로 삭제됩니다.
- 앱 설정 — 알림 여부 등.
기기에 저장된 모든 데이터는 앱을 삭제하면 함께 사라집니다. 앱 안에서도 대화 삭제 · 보온병 비우기 · 긴급 삭제로 언제든 지울 수 있습니다.
3. 블루투스 사용
탕비실은 주변 기기를 찾고 메시지를 주고받기 위해 Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE)를 사용합니다. 블루투스는 근거리 통신 목적으로만 쓰이며, 이를 통해 위치를 추적하지 않습니다.
블루투스가 알려주는 것은 "가깝다"는 사실뿐입니다. 상대가 몇 층에 있는지, 어느 회사 소속인지는 앱이 알 수 없고 알려주지도 않습니다.
4. 신고할 때 전송되는 정보 — 유일한 예외
사용자가 신고 버튼을 누른 경우에 한해, 신고 대상 메시지의 내용과 신고 사유가 검토를 위해 운영 서버로 전송됩니다. 이것이 대화 내용이 기기 밖으로 나가는 유일한 경우입니다.
- 신고하지 않으면 어떤 메시지도 서버로 가지 않습니다.
- 전송되는 정보에는 실명 · 이메일 · 위치가 포함되지 않습니다.
- 목적은 악용 검토와 차단 처리뿐이며, 다른 용도로 쓰지 않습니다.
- 차단된 사용자 목록을 내려받기 위해 앱이 서버에 접속할 수 있습니다. 이때 대화 내용은 전송되지 않습니다.
5. 사용 분석
앱 개선을 위해 Firebase Analytics로 익명화된 사용 기록을 수집합니다.
- 수집: 앱 실행 · 화면 전환 · 기능 사용 횟수 · 앱/iOS 버전
- 수집하지 않음: 메시지 내용 · 닉네임 · 광고 식별자 · 위치
분석 수집은 앱 설정에서 끌 수 있습니다.
6. 결제 정보
보온병 구독은 Apple의 App Store 인앱결제로 처리됩니다. 결제 수단 · 카드 번호 · 청구 정보는 Apple이 처리하며 앱은 접근할 수 없습니다. 앱은 구독이 활성 상태인지 여부만 확인합니다.
7. 캡처 감지
대화 중 화면 녹화나 캡처가 감지되면 같은 방의 참여자 모두에게 알립니다. 이때 전송되는 것은 "캡처가 있었다"는 사실뿐이며, 누가 했는지는 표시하지 않습니다.
완전히 막을 수는 없습니다. 녹화 중에는 대화를 가리고, 스크린샷은 비어 나오게 시도합니다. 다만 이 방식은 iOS 내부 동작에 의존해 보장되지 않으며, 다른 기기로 화면을 촬영하는 것은 어떤 앱도 막을 수 없습니다.
8. 익명성의 한계
익명은 사람 수에 달려 있습니다. 방에 둘뿐이라면 상대가 쓴 것이 아닌 모든 말은 당신이 쓴 것이므로, 익명은 수학적으로 성립하지 않습니다. 앱은 이 상태를 숨기지 않고 대화 화면 상단에 항상 표시합니다.
9. 긴급 삭제
앱 로고를 빠르게 세 번 누르면 메시지 · 저장된 대화 · 방 암호 · 설정이 즉시 삭제됩니다. 삭제된 데이터는 복구할 수 없습니다.
10. 제3자 제공
수집한 정보를 판매하거나 광고 목적으로 제공하지 않습니다. 앱이 사용하는 외부 서비스는 다음뿐입니다.

11. 아동의 개인정보
본 앱은 만 17세 미만을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동으로부터 의도적으로 정보를 수집하지 않습니다.
12. 이용자의 권리
앱은 계정을 만들지 않으므로 서버에 이용자를 특정할 수 있는 저장소가 없습니다. 기기에 저장된 데이터는 앱 안에서 직접 삭제하거나 앱을 삭제하면 사라집니다. 신고로 전송된 내용의 삭제를 원하시면 아래 주소로 문의해 주세요.
13. 정책 변경
정책이 바뀌면 이 페이지의 최종 업데이트 날짜를 갱신하고, 중요한 변경은 앱 안에서 알립니다.

Pantry does not send your conversations to a server. Messages travel directly between phones over Bluetooth, and there are no accounts. There is one exception — reporting, described precisely in section 4. Not overstating things is a principle of this app, so what it cannot do is written with the same weight as what it can.

2. Stored on your device only
- Nickname — shown in chat. It need not be your real name and can be changed anytime in Settings.
- Messages — stored in a file on the device and deleted automatically after 24 hours. This period cannot be extended, and a subscription does not extend it.
- Conversations saved to the Thermos — only what you explicitly save. Automatic deletion does not apply, so they are kept until you delete them. Opening them requires Face ID or your device passcode.
- Keys derived from a room passphrase — stored in the iOS Keychain and erased automatically after 3 days without activity in that room.
- App settings — such as notification preferences.
3. Bluetooth
Pantry uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover nearby devices and exchange messages. Bluetooth is used solely for short-range communication and never to track location.
Bluetooth only establishes that someone is nearby. The app cannot tell which floor or which company a person belongs to, and never claims to.
4. What is sent when you report — the one exception
Only when you tap Report, the content of the reported message and the reason are transmitted to our moderation server for review. This is the only case in which message content leaves your device.
- If you do not report, no message is ever sent to a server.
- No real name, email address, or location is included.
- It is used only for abuse review and blocking, for no other purpose.
- The app may contact the server to download a blocklist. No message content is sent in that request.
5. Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised usage data to improve the app.
- Collected: launches, screen views, feature usage counts, app and iOS version
- Not collected: message content, nickname, advertising identifier, location
Analytics collection can be turned off in the app's settings.
6. Payments
The Thermos subscription is processed through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment methods, card numbers, and billing details are handled by Apple and are not accessible to the app. The app only checks whether a subscription is active.
7. Capture detection
If screen recording or a screenshot is detected during a conversation, everyone in the room is notified. Only the fact that a capture occurred is shared; who did it is not shown.
We cannot fully block captures. While screen recording is active the conversation is hidden, and we attempt to make screenshots come out blank. That attempt depends on iOS internals and is not guaranteed, and no app can prevent someone photographing the screen with another device.
8. The limits of anonymity
Anonymity depends on how many people are present. If only two of you are in a room, everything the other person did not write was written by you, so anonymity cannot hold. The app does not hide this: it is shown at the top of the chat screen at all times.
9. Emergency deletion
Tapping the app logo three times quickly erases messages, saved conversations, room keys, and settings immediately. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
10. Third parties
We do not sell collected information or provide it for advertising. The only external services the app uses are:
- Google Firebase — anonymised analytics (section 5)
- Apple — in-app purchase processing (section 6)
- Our own server — report review and blocklist (section 4)
11. Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 17, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
12. Your rights
Because the app creates no account, there is no server-side store that can identify you. Data on your device can be deleted from within the app or by deleting the app. To request deletion of content submitted through a report, contact us below.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
